Caribbean Radio Lighthouse
“This is the different, distinctive radio voice in the West Indies, the Caribbean Radio Lighthouse,broadcasting from beautiful Antigua”. Miraculously built during the recession of the mid-70′s,the Lighthouse first went on the air on September 7, 1975.In 1972, the Lord led Dr. Tom Freeney,General Director of Baptist International Missions, Inc.,to suggest that the Lighthouse be built on Antigua.
We have found the government and people of Antigua to be most friendly and cooperative.Antigua, a 9 mile by 12 mile tropical island, is situated at the center of the East Caribbean chain of islands known as the Lesser Antilles. Broadcasting with 10000 watts on a frequency of 1160kHz(AM)and 2000 watts on 92.3MHz(FM), the Lighthouse transmits an AM signal 250 to 300 miles in all directions. It beams out the Light and Truth of God’s Word to about thirty English-speaking islands whose population approaches one million.
There are also, nearly one million French-speaking islanders within our coverage area, as well as a fast growing Hispanic community.With Christ-honoring music,soul-stirring preaching, edifying Bible teaching, thought-provoking archeological and science programs,captivating Christian drama, exciting broadcasts for children, and up-to-the-minute news,the Lighthouse offers something special for everyone, every day!
Radio Lighthouse is a missionary radio station, fundamental and baptistic in doctrine,which takes a stand for separation from sin and doctrinal compromise. We believe that everything that goes out over the air should be consistent with the Word of God. In this way, each broadcaster reinforces and complements, not contradicts, each other. We believe God’s work must be done in God’s way in order to have God’s blessing.God is a Blessing!
Souls are being saved as a result of the broadcasts and many are taking the Source of Light Bible courses. The Caribbean Radio Lighthouse is not a church, nor does it take the place of the local church. God has raised up the miracle of radio so the Gospel can go into many places where there are no local fundamental churches, as well as assist the existing churches in their ministries.Because a number of fine churches faithfully support the Lighthouse in their monthly missionary budgets,and the missionary staff members raise their own financial support, we are able to offer lower rates to our carefully selected broadcasters.
No appeals for station support funds are ever made over the air. Radio is the fastest way of reaching the most people in the shortest length of time with the unchanging Word of God
for this ever-changing world!
