Antigua and Barbuda operates an international registry with over 1400 registered ships and is also ranked among the top 20 in the world’s merchant fleet. In the yacht Industry, there are approximately 240 yachts of varying sizes recorded.
The twin island state has enacted the Merchant Shipping Act of 2006 which covers all aspects of safety, security and the requirements for cleaner oceans and has a worldwide coverage of approximately 257 nautical inspectors.
