V.C.Bird International Airport

If you arrive by air your first impression of the island will be V.C. Bird International Airport, it was named for Antigua’s first Prime Minister, Sir Vere Cornwall Bird, Sr.

The facility bustles round the clock, flights leaving as early as 6.00am and arriving well into the night. The runway stretches 2.743 metres and can accommodate the largest commercial aircraft, although private jets are regularly found here as well. In addition to welcoming travellers from around the world, the airport serves as a vital transportation hub for some of Antigua’s smaller neighbours, including St.Kitts &Nevis, Montserrat, Martinique, Dominica, Anguilla and St.Maarten.
