Postal Services
Many travelers send small tokens of paradise back home while on vacation. Whether it’s a postcard, package, or letter, Antigua’s post offices are reliable and convenient.
You will find four post offices around the island at the following locations:
- Airport
- St. John’s on Long and High Streets, site of the main sorting branch
- Woods Shopping Mall
- Barbuda
- Nelson’s Dockyard
Antigua’s post office hours are 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Offices are open until 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. On Saturdays, the post office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For more information on the island’s postal services, call the main post office branch at (268)562-1928
To rent a mailbox at the General Post office the cost is $100 EC annually. There are different sizes of mailboxes, however the price will increase if you get something other than the standard.
Global airmail and courier services including DHL and Federal Express are also available on Antigua.

To call the United States from Antigua, dial 1, the area code, and then the number. And, to call Antigua from the United States, dial 1, 268, and the number. You can also connect to a U.S. operator from your hotel or from the office of LIME, DIGICEL in St. John’s, where you can also send telegrams and faxes.
