Potters SDA Youth Choir
“Potters SDA Community Youth Choir … Promoting a Healthier You!”
The Potters Youth Group is a group of about 70 young people drawn mainly from the community of Potters. Group members are all involved in singing and playing uplifting music and other forms of community outreach. The aim of the Group is to expose young people to a wider range of quality music than their circumstances would normally allow. Although our group is church centric, we have members who are not Seventh-day Adventists, and actively encourage all young people in the community to be part of our dynamic music programme.
The Group is planning an educational/missionary/humanitarian trip to Cape Town and Johannesburg, called “Countdown to South Africa”. The trip is scheduled for 24th August 2011 – 7th September 2011.
COUNTDOWN TO SOUTH AFRICA
The Youth Group spearheaded an exciting health initiative on Sunday 4th July 2010 at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium. They hosted a National Health Run/Walk and Fair.
This involved youth groups, sporting organisations and other health enthusiasts from across the island. The Health Run/Walk and Fair is being supported by our many partners including the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Gender Affairs, the Antigua Athletic Association, the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute, the Antigua Dental Association, the Glaucoma Unit, the American University of Antigua and the Medical Benefits Scheme.
